Junior Golf Academy

The junior academy at Forest Hill Golf Club gives youngsters from the age of 5 a fantastic opportunity to learn golf. The academy programs run all year round for 8 weeks and are structured to encourage and motivate young people to take up golf. The Coaching takes place on the covered all year round driving range, short game area, putting green and the specifically designed short game practice course. Each programme consists of a 1 hour lesson each week over an 8 week period. All aspects of the game are covered starting with the basics of how to hold and swing a golf club, putting, chipping, irons, woods, golf etiquette, rules and playing the golf course. There is a premium placed on safety at the academy and all juniors are taught how to stay safe both on the driving range and on the golf course.

On completion of a coaching programme there is a certificate and trophy presentation. Each child who completes a course receives a certificate and special trophies are presented for the most improved players. Family and relatives are encouraged to come along to the occasion.

Coaching is available weekdays after school and at the weekends. Advance booking only.

Junior Day Camps

Day camps run throughout most school holidays offering juniors great fun whilst improving on their skills and playing golf. All Camps are packed with fun, games, a meal/refreshments and prizes. Camps start at 10.00am and run until 4.00pm. There is no need for parents to wait around as the PGA Golf Professionals will be on hand to see your Son/Daughter is safe. Junior Day camps are the perfect way to have fun all day. The camps are very popular and they are a great way to make new friends.

Schools Links

Forest Hill Golf Academy and richardhughesgolf.co.uk is keen to introduce as many youngsters as possible to the game of golf. From April 2009 in conjunction with The Golf Foundation the academy will be working with the schools in the local area and running Tri Golf and Golf Extreme sessions in schools. Tri golf and golf extreme is adapted golf that can be used indoors or outside. Many local youngsters will benefit from the initiative.

Junior playing lesson

Continue your childs development by playing 9 holes with myself gaining valuable on course tuition (on the 18 hole championship course).

£60 for 3 players (£20 per player) Session lasts for approximately 2 1/2 hours.
